When:

In normal circomstances if you use dry grit of the correct dimensions and the humididy is normal, you will not have to clean the upper part of the machine. But when are all the circumstances normal?

In general the rule is: if you see the gritflow is not constant and sometimes the output is going down, the chances are the the grit is clogging inside. Too small grains, too big grains and humidity are responsible for that.

So just open the machine topcover, clean the inside with a small brush and a cotton stick and you are ready to restart
